GREENHILLS, Ohio (AP) - A new ordinance ban pit bulls from the village of Greenhills in suburban Cincinnati, 1 of several new rules banning the dogs in parts of Ohio.
The ban, which takes effect November 1st, comes after attacks on residents by violent pit bulls running loose in town.
The village passed its own ordinance October 2nd after a Supreme Court decision this spring upheld a Toledo ordinance banning pit bulls.
Village officials say anyone who keeps a pit bull in violation of the ordinance will be guilty of a third-degree misdemeanor for a first offense.
The court can also order the pit bull destroyed or permanently removed from the village.
