BSL ALERT: ANDERSON COUNTY , KY


The next county fiscal court meeting is Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.

The proposed BSL in Anderson County , KY , includes the following regulations for pit bull owners only:

Owners must:

· Pay an annual $100 registration fee

· Provide their name, address, phone number and an identification of the dog

· Provide two color photos of the dog

· Show proof of rabies vaccination

· Show proof the owner is at least 22 years old

· Show proof of a dog license

· Show proof that the dog has been implanted with a micro chip that has been registered with county’s animal control unit

· Show proof of $50,000 in liability insurance

· Show proof that the dog is spayed or neutered

The owner must also show that the dog is securely confined indoors or in a securely enclosed and locked pen or kennel, except when leashed with owner or other responsible person at least 21 years old.

The structure must be at least 7 feet tall, have secure sides and top and measure a minimum of 150 square feet and provide protection from the elements.
