To my dearest little brat,
It's hard to believe that a year has passed by so quickly. You were a ray of sunshine on a day that was shrouded in misery and tears. The tiniest and most darling delight amongst your siblings. I knew from only a few weeks old, I knew you'd be mine. It just had to be so, your little face shown through the computer screen, promising a whole new day and years upon years of plucky goodness.
Your attitude - that never say die spunk that I love so dearly - was very apparent from the moment I met your brother and you in Lansing. You had that sass about you - it fit so well into the group that later became dubbed the "Trio of Trouble" thanks to you. You made me shed many tears and foul words of frustration because you just had to do things your way, didn't you? Now that I look back at all the puddles and piles, the shredded cords, shoes and pant legs, I knew that it was all worth it.
You're finally starting to grow up now. The puppy ganglies are slowly going away and you're maturing into a very lovely, young lady. Though you still continue to push me to the limits with your naughty antics, your drive and continued willingness to go that extra mile always make me remember that even the roughest rock in the pile, when polished and worked, will become the most brilliant diamond.
Lyric, you are my shining star. You are my diamond in still needing to be polished. I am grateful to have been blessed by you. Thank you and I love you, sweet girl. Happy first birthday!
Now for the photos....
2 weeks or so...
4 weeks-ish...
Five weeks...
Six weeks...
Seven or eight weeks...
And finally, meeting Lyric for the first time at 10 weeks...
This is when I knew I was in for some bumpy rides...
Meeting sister Luna for the first time....
And lots and lots of new people!
And dogs!
And then the chewing....oh, yes...lots of chewing...
Her first trip to the groomers...
Meeting Ryker...
Seeing snow for the first time...
She found her voice rather quickly too!
But she grew...
And grew...
And won her first piece of hardware - at ADBA Nationals no less!
All and all, we made it through a year - fairly unscathed - and she became more than just the tiny bundle of terror...she grew into my darling, drivey pit bull.
