Sugar Hill, Georgia resident Laurie Filsinger is asking for Atlanta area dog owners to attend the city council meeting tomorrow night (Monday, February 4, 2008) to voice their opposition to an ordinance that would ban pit bulls from "public property" in the city limits.
MEETING INFO:
Sugar Hill City Annex
4988 W. Broad St
Sugar Hill, GA 30518
For anyone unable to attend the meeting, Laurie is asking for people to call City Hall tomorrow to voice their polite and respectful opposition.
The number for City Hall is: 770-945-6716
Laurie is also asking that anybody planning on attending the meeting to please call or text her at: 770-380-4551
The council will decide Monday whether to list the "proposed ordinance" on the City Council Agenda. If it makes it to the agenda, the council will vote on February 11, 2008 whether to approve or deny the ordinance.
Laurie is of the opinion that if the ordinance makes it to the agenda, there is a very good possibility it will be passed, which is why she is workng feverishly to strike it down before it gets that far!.
If you are in the Atlanta, Georgia area, please try to attend this meeting tomorrow night to show your opposition to any ordinance that targets a specific breed of dog.
By the way, Laurie is not a "pit bull" owner, and as the person heading up the opposition, I think that will say a lot to the council. Please support her efforts!
