I sometimes have this problem with Sasha, and she gets so sickly thin. Thank goodness she likes the RC and is eating it till she is full. There were times tho, on other foods that she only ate every few days

I was thinking it was an obstruction...but the vet thought it was a um...hard bm that was cauing the problem and put him on an anti-nausa and a laxitive.....He finally pooped today...I have never been so excited to see a dog poop...lol....he is finally eating a little, just not as much as he needs to.

Try getting some canned chicken broth from the store and pour about 1/3 of a can on the dogs food and stir it up. You don't wanna do it forever cuz they will get into a routine for it, but it's a good tool for a few days.

Satin balls (you can google for the various recipes) are great for enticing a dog to eat and keeping the weight up.

if you use the broth, i'd recommend a LOW sodium one, as it's loaded with salt.
also to help promote B/M's, you can add a lil canned pumpkin into their food. it has fiber which will help your dog to 'go'. not too much tho, as the effect will be adverse=runs.

i've read/heard opinions about dogs having their food switched out on a regular basis as they get bored with the same ole feed, but not sure i agree with that, as, imo, a constant changing of food typically causes stomach upset. i personally add chicken to my dogs' food. they gobble it!

Well the poor little guy didn't make it......
He ate a little Monday but wouldn't eat again. The vet thought the only other thing it could have been was a blockage, which was going to cost a fortune. He was due to go for x-rays on Wed. but he passed Tues. night Crying or Very sad

Yep it was pretty hard. This was a pretty good pup (papers wise) and he was coming along really nice. Was going to start showing him in May Crying or Very sad

But what makes it worse.....still don't know (for sure) what caused it.
