Throughout my life I have always been fascinated by dogs. I believe that they are truly one of the best examples of God’s love for us. And I also have never thought that it was an “accident” that DOG was GOD spelled backwards. Dogs always have that amazing ability to lift our spirits no matter how bad our circumstances are. They care nothing about WHO we are, or WHAT we are, but rather just THAT we are. Dogs don’t care about our social status, or how much money we have in our wallets, or our banks accounts. Dogs don’t judge us by the clothes that we can or can’t afford to buy. Dogs could care less if we had a bad day at work, or a good day on the golf course. Dogs don’t follow the stock market, or the latest celebrity news. Dogs have never had a 401-K plan, or the desire for a new sportscar. What they do have though is a never ending desire to please us. They will lick our hand no matter how dirty it is. They will lay their heads on our lap whether we are dressed in a suit, or a torn greasy pair of blue jeans. They are always glad to see us when we get home regardless of our attitude, or our selfish desires. And they always seem to know when we don’t feel good, and try their best to comfort us, or just be close to us to help nurse us back to health. Its really a shame that more people can’t act like Dogs do. I believe that God intended for us to treat each other the way Dogs treat us. I think if Dogs went to church, they would treat each other a lot better than we treat each other, don’t you think. I also think GOD knew exactly what he was doing when he created DOGS. He wanted to give us a perfect example of His love for us. So the next time you hear someone say “they treated me like a dog” consider it an honor, because that is how GOD wants it to be. I bet GOD wishes more people would treat their friends , family, and church members like DOGS. It sure would make this a more kind, and loving world.
