Look at what we came across on our walk last night

Legacy came about two feet from stepping on this nasty guy. Snakes aren’t uncommon on the dirt roads we walk, but this is probably the closest any of the dogs have come to a potentially huge problem. I'm just glad we weren’t running and I was able to pull her away in time. So just remember everyone to be careful on those evening walks, snakes love to hang out on the warm roads.

Good reminder!

I was walking my dog just last week, and off of the trail on some rocky dirt I saw a snake take off into some high grass. My dog did not see it, but I did. Here in western oregon, we do not have any poisonous snakes to worry about. In eastern Oregon, there are rattlesnakes though. Great Pic. Do you know what kind of snake it is?

Yep, this one was a little Copperhead. He was probably a little less then a foot and a half.

Got lucky there, could have been really bad. Good reminder...

That snake looks like it was built to kill. There isn't a part on it that doesn't scream danger. It looks wicked. Did you let it go? Kill it? I am an animal lover, but turning one of those loose could certainly come back to bite you. No pun intended.
