If you diligent and do your homework, there are people who still keep the pure stuff. There are also some great crosses into other segments of the Carver bloodline.
you can't deny carver's influence on the breed, that's a fact!
but you here so many bad stories of maurice hanging papers on his dogs. wasn't he the one always saying something like, "~i'll sell em dogs, but i don't give them the receipe~", and as it seems that the carver dogs cross well with everything, and just as good when bred straight, that maybe there's more diversity underneath those breedings than meets the eye. i think maurice was real smart as to who he placed dogs with, and who he let the dogs out to.
these may have been the best and ushered in a new era...
